Job profile

The Transmission & Distribution Division provides comprehensive
expert services to its clients related to the design and delivery of
power systems in the UK and overseas. With a client base
consisting of utilities, commercial developers and heavy industry,
capital project values are typically high and form an essential part of
national or commercial infrastructure.
The office based civil section provides expertise in all aspects of
substation and overhead transmission tower design and works on
stand alone assignments as well as part of multi disciplinary teams.

Job description

As part of this role, the successful candidate will undertake
assignments covering the design of new high voltage substations
and the design/condition assessment of overhead line transmission
towers and their associated foundations. Experience in the use of
design codes encompassing concrete, structural steelwork and
foundations, as well as report writing, is therefore important.

Candidate specification

Applicants should be educated to degree level, with at least relevant
experience in a civil engineering role and preferably either chartered
or working towards chartered status. Candidates should be prepared
to undertake short visits within the UK and overseas to meet with
clients and contractors as required.
