Job profile

The Transmission & Distribution Division provides expert services to
its clients in substation and overhead line design and project delivery
in the UK and overseas. With a client base consisting of utilities,
commercial developers and heavy industry, capital project values
are typically high and form an essential part of the national or
commercial infrastructure.

Job description

The office based protection and control section provides expertise in
all aspects of power systems protection, including automatic
systems for restoring load and works both on stand alone
assignments, as well as part of multi-disciplinary teams.
The successful candidate should be experienced in the application
of protection to HV transmission systems, distribution networks and
power stations, as well as being able to undertake fault level
calculations and protection settings for complex power systems and
participate in factory acceptance tests. In addition to this, the
successful candidate will also possess knowledge of relay designs
and have experience of UK practices as well as experience of
working on international projects.
With excellent communication skills, applicants should be educated
to degree/HND level, with extensive relevant protection and control
experience in an electrical engineering role and preferably be either
chartered or working towards chartered status. Candidates should
be prepared to undertake short visits within the UK and overseas as
required, to meet clients and contractors, at short notice.
